His family back home - one of the few Keeper clans in La Noscea - make their humble living fishing by night and running a tavern in the Lower Decks of Limsa Lominsa. When he was fourteen, his father, a retired adventurer, apprenticed him to an old friend in the Sharlayan colony in Dravania. There he not only learned how to wield a bow and delve dungeons, but also discovered his affinity for the aetheric sciences as he studied and trained into adulthood.
Since then, he's bounced from one questionable occupation to the next - joining the Rogue's Guild, boat racing, cheating at boat racing, dodging the consequences of cheating at boat racing, practicing alchemical medicine, performing at the Gold Saucer - eventually, accidentally, getting to put his adventuring skills to use as one of Hydaelyn's Warriors of Light.
